Tom and Sophie were married at Penshurst Place on 4th July this year. We met up earlier in the summer for their pre wedding shoot at the venue. This was a great chance to chat about their wedding plans, and to meet Tom for the first time. Their wedding day was a very hot and sunny Saturday in July and I met up with Sophie at the Tunbridge Wells hotel where all the girls were getting ready and trying to keep cool in a lovely big room overlooking the square. Tom, meanwhile, was at the nearby Spa Hotel where Adam Trigg, my second photographer, joined him and his family.
Tom and Sophie had chosen to be married in the beautiful Penshurst church, just walking distance from Penshurst Place. Sophie was a few minutes late, although not intentionally as it turned out to be Langton Green’s fete that afternoon and the wedding cars took a little longer to get to the church on time! After a lovely service the guests strolled the short distance up to Penshurst Place, arriving almost at the same time as the bride and groom who arrived in style in their beautiful car.
Penshurst Place has lovely gardens and we headed off for some time together before returning to join all their guests in the courtyard. The hall looked stunning with lovely flowers by Florist in the Forest and the staff at Penshurst were so helpful which just made the day run smoothly for everyone.
The speeches were brilliant, and much hilarity which showed what a really special couple Tom and Sophie are. It was such a happy beautiful wedding, and then an extra treat for the guests as they all made their way outside for fireworks at 10pm, before returning inside to dance the night away.
Congratulations to a really lovely couple and thank you for letting me be part of your day.
